How we keep food safe

What Registered Kitchen means

Before a cook can appear on the site, we verify two things: her registration in the Arizona Department of Health Services cottage food program and a current food handler card. Only then does she get the Registered Kitchen badge. No one can switch that badge on themselves.

Arizona cottage food law

Arizona legalized the sale of home-cooked food, including prepared foods like tamales, under HB 2042, effective September 14, 2024. The cook registers with the state, uses meat from inspected sources, and cooks in her own home kitchen. That makes selling home-cooked food legal in Arizona.

Home kitchens, made clear

Food is made in a home kitchen that is not inspected by a health department and may process common allergens. We show that plainly before you pay, on every kitchen and on every label. You decide with the full picture.

Allergens

Every dish lists its declared allergens, and every label carries a home-kitchen notice. If you have an allergy, message the cook directly before you order.

How to report a problem

If something is not right with an order, contact us and the Arizona Department of Health Services.
